1-A-Day
This is my self-challenge to post one image to this gallery daily. The images I am sharing are a reflection on the many aspects of photography that I enjoy.
Red Dress

Red Dress
* I took this image for the REDress Project, which focuses around the issue of missing or murdered Aboriginal women across Canada. Photographers across the nation, including many from our local camera club, are taking part. I have used a long exposure on my red dress images, creating a more translucent subject, in hopes of conveying a deeper message.
This image was exposed over 13 seconds. I removed the dress from the scene after about 5 seconds. This photo was taken mid-day, in a shaded area, and I adjusted all my cameras settings to ensure as little light as possible was getting in. I also used a number of different Neutral Density filters, one each of an ND8, ND4 and ND2, to further reduce the amount of light, allowing for this long exposure.
